England have a battle on their hands and the odds are now against them to win the Ashes series for a second time in recent years. England’s performance during the last test was at best labored as they failed to make any impact into Australia’s batting line up and their hard work and momentum from tests 2 and 3 against Australia is now all but gone. How can England improve?
There are reports that Mark Ramprakash will earn a test call up against Australia. He has been playing well this season scoring runs but at age 40 is probably not the long term answer. England also need to find a replacement for Freddy flintoff as this will be his last test so youth should be the key in decisions. However, bringing back old heads into an England representative side is not a new policy. This proven method was introduced in the last rugby world cup where they made the finals. England should look to bring back Freddy and keep the same team from the last test. It is too late now too blood new players in a test series which is ending shortly.
