Arsenal move into last 16

by Londonsportsbetting.co.uk on November 25, 2009

Arsenal’s 2-zip victory over Standard de Liège saw them group winners of group H and booked their place in the last 16.  With Arsenal winning group H it has probably been there most easy passage to the last 16 in recent years. Arsenal’s passage to the Champions league final now rests with the random draw and the knock stage of the competition will start in February 16th of next year.  Arsenal are hoping to achieve the success they experienced back in 2006 to reach the final.

Arsenal have picked up injuries to Gallas (eye) and Gibbs (broken foot).  Gallas should hopefully be fit for the Chelsea game.

Arsenal will need victory  in this game if they are to close the gap that Chelsea are building at the top of the table.  This premier league season has full of surprises and Chelsea are yet to play their last game against Porto.  Hopefully, the Chelsea players will come out injury free and take the three points against Porto.
