Win or draw this weekend against Birmingham will likely see Chelsea be the number 1 team in the English Premier League for 2009. The last few weeks they have a had a bumpy road and were lucky to get points against West Ham on the weekend. Last time Chelsea were the number one team at the end of year they went on to win the Premiership (8/11 to win league). They are playing away from London this weekend and let’s hope the weather improves so there is some football!
There were a couple of funny items to come out of Arsenal’s game against Hull. The over dramatic fall from Gracia after Nasri’s slight foot stomp and the handbag fight that came after the graceful dive. Now Arsenal and Hull are both being charged for not being able to control their players. Hull V Arsenal is becoming a grudge match and well worth the money paid for a ticket. Ever since the alleged Cesc spitting incident against coach Phil brown these teams have been at each other and it is good to see in football you need those games as player when you know you are up for a hard time. This week Arsenal (8/11) are taking on Aston Villa (4/1) and it has to be the game of the round but just because.
Fulham (9/5) v Tottenham (6/4) is a sell out and can Fulham continue on their giant killing ways? We can not wait for this game as Damian Duff and Bobby are in fine form. If Bobby does not make the England squad for the World Cup then there are serious problems with the selectors! Maybe should start a campaign support Bobby for World Cup badge!
