Are there any words in the entire English language more lovely to hear than, “England wins!” If you bet on England to come out victorious over Argentina last weekend, then these words would have been sweet, sweet music, indeed. Even if you didn’t and are just a fan, there was no doubt reason to celebrate as England came out on top by a score of 16-9 over a tough Argentinean team. And now, on to the All Blacks.

Johnson made some changes for last weekend’s match that seemed to work out for the entire team. What we’re seeing now is an England squad that is hungry for results and ready to pound their way up the middle, or speed their way up the side; whatever it takes.

And you can guarantee that they’re already in preparations for the match against the All Blacks on November 21st. To add just a little more fire to an already revved-up squad, Johnson has called up Lions lock, Simon Shaw, and David Flatman, a prop from Bath, will be seeing some action next Saturday as well.

There is still much work to be done, without a doubt. Perhaps the best play of the day was when the sky opened up and the rain fell over Twickenham, giving England its greatest advantage. One source reports that during a break in play, a referee actually told Captain Steve Borthwick that all of England’s problems were originating in their scrum. Perhaps the half-time booing the crowd dished out was enough to get England to carry the game through to the end.

There may have been problems, but in the end, England was victorious and they’ll be carrying that momentum with them when they meet New Zealand next Saturday. Odds are, our boys won’t be in the mood for another booing, and they’ll be doing all they can to avoid it.

If you’re looking to come out on top, you’ll find that Paddy Power has England at 11/2 right now, while New Zealand are being paid at 1/10, a draw at 50/1. Given the intensity of these two teams, I feel it’s unlikely that we’ll see a big English victory.

Ladbrokes has the rugby autumn international odds that are quite similar, showing England at 11/2, NZ at 1/10, but they’re a little more optimistic about the chance of a draw with odds at 22/1, as of today.

However you bet, you can be guaranteed a win if you’re betting on this match to be a great one to watch.

It was a day of swing emotions as England (1/4 Favourites to win test) may have found a replacement bowler for Freddy as Broad stepped up to give England the slight advantage with figures of 5-37. Australia (7/2 cricket betting odds to win the test) started the day very strong but after lunch they were napping as Australia collapsed to total of 160 in reply to England’s first innings total of 332. England failed to added extra runs to their over night score.

Katich was the pick of the Australian batsman as he scored a solid 50 runs before being caught by Cook. The rest of Australian batsmen struggled as Broad bowled a beautiful spell of 4-8. The England batsmen however failed to deliver what could have been the knock out blow as they lost three early wickets with the main destroyer being Mitchell Johnson. Tomorrow will be a very interesting day with light showers.

The pitch is crumbling very quickly in this test match and you would expect England to put on another 150+ to be in a winning position but with the way today went you have think that this finish will be one of the greatest Ashes victories for either team.

Can not wait for tomorrow’s play.
